Earlier this year, we made the decision to use foster care for our three special needs dogs rather than subject them to the anticipated summer heat at the facility.
We also had to face the reality of diminishing financial support to properly operate and maintain the facility 70 hours per week. We will no longer house animals at the facility adjacent to Seven Lakes Kennels in West End.
This will serve in the best interest of each animal by being in a home, albeit temporarily, rather than being boarded in a kennel environment. Due to the holidays, we have been unsuccessful in recruiting fosters but we hope this will change as we move into 2019.
Our Continuing Efforts
Lazarus (shown below), our blind Boxer-Pit mix with advanced kidney disease will reside full-time at the Ficarro residence unless or until other suitable foster care is found.
We will continue to facilitate saving more animals (both cats and dogs) only with your help as a “Farley Foster.” TFF will subsidize all costs relative to fostering an animals. A room the size of a small walk-in closet or half bath will suffice in housing a wee kitten; having two will only double the fun! All you have to do is provide the “shelter” (your home) and some TLC. In return, you will have saved a life and receive unconditional love and devotion that will resonate in your heart for a lifetime.
Please contact us if you wish to become a Farley Foster and help us to continue saving lives. We will provide your with more details about the process at that time.
We are incredibly proud of what the Farley Foundation has accomplished but we can only continue with your support. With the help of a handful of dedicated volunteers, we saved 300+ lives without compromising the medical and behavioral care that each animal required and deserved. Join the Farley Pack today and be rewarded with every life saved.
We still require financial and volunteer support to continue fulfilling our mission. We welcome anyone willing to create, organize and manage fundraising events, market any dogs in foster care; assist Farley Fosters in other ways, as well as the cost of maintaining the non-profit itself.
Bringing Awareness to our Animals in Need
Please be assured that our level of commitment to the “No-Kill” philosophy has not changed. Our efforts will simply take a different path that will allow us to be more efficient in caring for homeless animals in need.
As the days of 2018 slip by and the holiday season nears its end, please remember the Farley Foundation in your year-end charitable giving. You may make a donation by sending your check payable to “The Farley Foundation,” P.O. Box 606, West End, NC 27376
As always, a special thank you goes out to all of our donors and our dedicated core of volunteers who have given us the opportunity to save 300+ animals from likely destruction and with your help, we expect to continue to making a difference.
Mutts Appreciated and Happy Holidays,
The Farley Foundation
